Manufacturing Firms in Scotland Said to be Recovering, According to Survey

According to a recent Scottish industrial trend survey, there have been improvements in the trends of major manufacturing firm as industrial firms report improved domestic and export orders along with higher output.
From the survey which involved 49 Scottish firms, it was discovered that there were more of domestic orders than that of exports, which is happening for the first time in 12 months.
NZ production numbers decrease to lowest in a decade

The New Zealand manufacturing numbers have decreased for a third continuous quarter, this time being their lowest level in over a decade, headed by falls in the paper and chemical sectors.
The productions seasonally adjusted decreased by 1.4% in the quarter ended 30th September, as found out by Statistics New Zealand. The cost of production increased by 1.3%, headed significantly by rises in the prices of dairy and meat.

As the growth of the Manufacturing industry in the New Zealand circle is measured by an index published by BNZ and Business New Zealand saw mixed reactions from the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that caused a lot of destruction at Canterbury, the manufacturing activity is in return only saw a minor change.

For the third quarter of this fiscal, Scotts Miracle-Gro Co has posted a 16 per cent jump in net profit. This is higher than the analyst expectations and has been possible because of rising consumer demand in lawn-and-garden segment. The profit margins too have improved during this time.
