Just when an exploration at a well in Carnarvon Basin completed successfully, energy giant Chevron announced its one of the biggest gas discoveries in Australia. The Acme-1 exploration well of this US energy Company is situated 150 kilometers offshore from Onslow in Western Australia.

Oil major, Chevron Corp. declared a natural-gas unearthing off the coast of Western Australia, which is said to be the latest in a string of gas discoveries by important firms in the area.
Ex-Chairman and Chief Executive, David O'Reilly had forecasted in October that Australia would push the Company’s revenue equal to its U.S. businesses, by 2020.

B. C. Premier Gordon Campbell reveals to be in favor of altering the protocols outlining how the public should be made cognizant about environmental incidents.
Campbell's revelations emerged rising towards an oil and gas leak a Burnaby, B. C., refinery owned by Chevron Canada Ltd. A mix of gas, oil and diesel is revealed to spread gradually into Burrard Inlet from the refinery, nearly a month after the leak was first found.

The cause for the oil seepage into Burrard Inlet that had resulted in a small marina-like sheen on the water has yet not been traced by Chevron Canada.
Chevron Canada was wrong not to warn the city earlier of the oil seepage, that crews are now trying to contain in the Burrard Inlet, the mayor of Burnaby says.

Chevron Corporations proceeds more than doubled up for the first quarter with the help of its increased and improved production.
Chevron's international production increased by 5% to 2.78 million barrels of oil equivalent for each day from a year ago, mostly because of higher production from its latest projects in the U. S. Gulf of Mexico, Nigeria and Angola and extended competence at its Tengiz project in Kazakhstan.
Pilbara Contracts Awarded to Intecsea and Technip Oceania by Chevron
Submitted by Manish Verma on Fri, 12/04/2009 - 15:54Two offshore contracts for the "front-end engineering and design phase" of the company's ongoing Wheatstone gas project have been awarded by Chevron to Intecsea and Technip Oceania. The gas project is being undertaken on the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
While Intecsea will undertake designing of the subsea gas gathering facilities and the pipelines, Technip Oceania will oversee the planning of a production plant.
