In a new development for the patients of high blood pressure the scientists from Melbourne have recently devised a new machine which can effectively decrease the blood pressure by using radio waves.
More than one fourth to one third of the Australian population is suffering from high blood pressure and is resorting to a range of drugs available in the market to treat their condition and most of them do not even respond to these popular drugs available.
High blood pressure can lead to a series of other ailments like heart disease, stroke and even kidney failure. The new device will be helpful for people who don't respond to other medication.
This device is developed by Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute and the research was a trial which was based on the phenomenon of reducing the blood pressure without the use of any external drugs.
The trial involved 106 patients from all across Europe and Australia and a small catheter was inserted into the artery of each patient's upper thigh and was then threaded into another artery just next to the kidney.
After this radio waves were sent to heat the nerves and turn off particular nerves which prove to be effective in high blood pressure.
