Infratil and the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, the new owners of Shell businesses are holding back the decision to rebrand it. In a deal that involved $700 million took place in March as per which they became the owners of the service stations of Shell.
Since the deal, the Shell business has been renamed as Greenstone Energy but the new branding has not been followed on its hundreds of service stations. This is not being done since a review of the business which is to come by the year-end is awaited.
Said Greenstone's chief executive Mike Bennets, that decision on the same will come sometime by the next year. It will be decided at that time whether it will be more appropriate to keep Shell Brand or whether it will be shifted to Greestone Energy.
Greenstone currently has 225 stations that are present across the country. One other reason for not changing name is that greenstone is taken as sacred connotation by some people.
Meanwhile on whether the company is thinking of buying Mobil, it was said that they are ready to look into anything at the moment.
