Cotton farmers extend their roadshow

Cotton farmersIn order to seek attention and support for the sheep farmers, the promoters of a new a new farmer wool co-operative have decided to extend their roadshow by a week.

The roadshow began after the Wool Partners Co-operative proposed for replacing the existing Wool Partners International joint venture company with a farmer owned firm. The first one was built some two years ago.

It is said that the new venture cannot proceed unless and until the farmers decide to invest in the same. They need to commit half of the wool production of New Zealand and also put in $65 million.

The co-operatives chairman, Jeff Grant, says it has organized more meetings in response to requests from farmers.

Grant says that the area has been able to get the eyeballs of the investors and the new o-operative is going to charge the farmers only 2 per cent as market development fees. A list of possible questions that the farmers should ask has also been made.
