Several thousand women could now be saved from dying due to the deadly cervical cancer just by a new and improved development in cervical cancer testing.
The test also delivers results overnight which is much faster than earlier tests and is more accurate than the presently used smear test which is used to spot early signs of this disease as per researchers.
The cost of this test at one time will be only 15 pounds and will be made available in GP surgeries within 12 months. With this new advancement cervical smear test equipment could become a thing of the past.
This new test is a result of the trials done by British and American scientists on several thousand women. Researchers also claim that the smear test misses out more than a third of all the cervical cancer cases but this new method detects all the cases.
Almost 1,000 British lose their lives to the disease every year and the launch of this new and improved test could save as many as 300 lives every year.
