ANZ, National IT merges expected to happen

ANZIn order to make its two banks work more closely with each other, the largest banking group in the country has decided to merge the IT of ANZ and National. Because of this it is expected that ANZ New Zealand will takeover the `systematics' banking system of National bank and they will be able to work in a more co-ordinated manner.

The merger is going to happen by the end of next year. Said bank's chief executive David Hisco, that this streamlining is going to be very beneficial for the customers and in the long run for the banking group as well.

Till now, two different IT platforms required duplication of work that led to higher cost and wastage of efforts. Besides this, lack of flexibility and improper delivery of services also happened.

After the merger, the customers can deposit as well as withdraw from any of the sister banks. Since their account details are present in one single master database, it will be possible as well as easier for the efforts.

The savings thus made can be reinvested in the bank.
