Performance results to be released by AHS

Alberta-Health-ServicesThe Alberta Health Services (AHS) recently put five transitional beds on display at the Royal Alexandra hospital this Saturday and said that this was one of the many ways in which they plan to deal with the rising waiting hours in emergency rooms across the province.

Very soon the debate over the health care reforms will start again at the legislature and health officials said that Albertans will get access to some new information regarding the quality of care which is delivered across the province.

The AHS has now decided to reveal the results of about 13 dashboard indicators this week. The performance steps were declared last year in the months of January and were made in a way which could measure how the health care system was doing and to carry on with improvements in problem areas.

Dr Andreas Laupacis is the Chair of the Quality and Safety Committee and had said previous week that he may resign from the health super-board to protest against the firing of former CEO Stephen Duckett.
