As per a recently made proposal by the American president, Barack Obama, a two-year federal pay freeze should imposed which is about increased Republican power in Congress as it is about the size of the federal debt.
The president has said that the proposal which is still subject to the approval of the congress will result in saving close to $28 billion over five years.
It is to be mentioned here that it is still a tiny percentage of the total federal debt now pegged at $13.7 trillion.
It may be noted here that the plan has drawn many compliments from the end of Republicans who are of a view that their congressional leaders are all set to meet today with Obama at the White House. It may be noted here that republicans will take control of the House in January. The long-term debt challenge of the nation is challenge for both the parties and it also a responsibility of the nation to address the same.
Obama has said that the freeze for the two million fed workers will not apply to the military.
