If you are fat and you are pregnant, well then this would be the right time to cut down on those extra calories, as a fat pregnancy can result in the soon to be born suffering from numerous disorders. This means that women by eating for two, not just end up affecting their health but their child's health as well.
A recently conducted research has found that Scottish women happen to be the third heaviest women in the world, when they are pregnant. Apart from Scottish women, the other countries with the heaviest pregnancies are the United States and Mexico respectively.
Talking about the new findings, a Professor at the Centre for Public Health Nutrition Research of the Dundee University, Annie Anderson has requested pregnant women not to overeat and gorge on food just because they are pregnant. She felt that women should stop listening to the old saying that women should eat for two when they are pregnant.
Anderson also opined that women before planning to become pregnant should think about shedding the extra calories, so that they can face pregnancy in a better health. Though, already pregnant women need to remember, that they should not try to lose the weight, once they are pregnant.
