An Early Test for Womb Cancer Found

An Early Test for Womb Cancer FoundBritish doctors have been able to find a way to diagnose womb-cancer in women, many months and in some cases even years before the dreaded condition shows up any signs of the symptoms. The newly developed scan can detect the very initial signs of the cancer, even when the patient is feeling absolutely healthy.

The developers of the test have informed that the test could be highly beneficial, especially as women who were at a high risk of developing the cancer can come in for a diagnosis to check if they were at the risk of suffering from a condition.

Womb cancer is known to affect the lives of 6,000-women on an annual basis, and is also known to result in the fatality of 1,700-women in a year. The number of cases related to womb cancer has also witnessed an increase of 50%, since the 1970s.

The rapid increase in the number of cases of womb cancer has resulted in doctors urging women across the country to undergo a diagnostic test, in order to ensure that the number of fatalities can be reduced. The diagnostic test has been developed by scientists at the University College in London.

In the study, that involved the assessment of the tool, it was found that the test was able to diagnose 80% women, suffering from the cancer.
