In a high profile deal worth $NZ21.6 million, Fairfax Media is all set to acquire tender notification service provider TenderLink. com, which is largest online tender or "e-tender" company in the southern hemisphere. The acquired company uses Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model through which it provides electronic tendering solutions.
The major reason for Fairfax acquiring the company is that it provides services to the small to medium enterprise market, where Tenderlink completely and perfectly coincides with their strategy.
The businesses that they provide services are all high growth transactional businesses. The company official of the acquiring company are of a firm belief that this acquisition will reap them high benefits in the near term itself, without wasting too much of time.
The takeover will be completed in another 45 days time. Other businesses that Fairfax is into are My Career, Domain, Drive, RSVP, Essentially Baby, InvestSMART, Stayz, but its most successful is the NZ auction site Trade Me.
