Aretha Franklin, a famous American singer, songwriter and pianist, has been recently discovered to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which is one of the most dangerous types and spreads quickly. She has been discharged from the hospital recently after her treatment.
Although the singer underwent a surgery that was successful and was recovering pretty well, it has been found by the doctors that the legendary singer has a survival rate of just 5 to 10%. She has been confirmed with pancreatic cancer on December 8th and has been diagnosed with the same. Pancreatic cancer is one the most hazardous and lethal of all as it not screened on a daily basis and therefore it is detected once, usually when it spreads beyond pancreas.
According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 20% of those diagnosed survive one year and there is only a 4% survival rate over five years.
The news has been heartbreaking and shattering for not only the singer but for her entire family and music world as the survival chances for the Queen of Soul is quite low.
Though, many well-wishers and fans would be praying that a miracle saves the genius that is Aretha Franklin.
