More Teams Required for Relay for Life

Relay-for-LifeRelay for Life is an 18-hour relay that aims at spreading awareness and pooling funds for the Marlborough Cancer Society. It marks the celebration and memorial for cancer survivors, their carers, whanau and friends.

The registration process for taking part in the event has begun. Presently, around 25 teams have been registered with Marlborough Cancer Society for the relay, as told by finance co-ordinator Hilary Gill. He added that there was a requirement of at least 100 teams, so still a long way to go.

The relay will begin on March 5 at 4pm and will end at 10am on March 6. Those who want to register for the same can contact Hilary Gill at hilaryg @c ancersoc. org. nz or 035794379.

The event would also be participated in by the employees of the Ray White. This year, the captain of the team is Aimee Williams, who is office administrator of Ray White Property Management.

The team led by Ms. Williams has already collected an amount worth $800, which includes $386 raised from a barbecue in town. Also, every participant sales agent has promised to donate $200 from their sales' commissions.

“We are encouraging other teams to register, as well as fundraising, and would encourage anyone to give it a go. It is fantastic for teambuilding and is for a great cause”, said Gill.
