It is often said that cancer can hit anyone, and so is the case of breast cancer with women. It just happens to hit anyone at anytime without any indication or anything symptom at all. Such was the case of Dr. Marisa Weiss as well, she happens to be a woman who had been treating people with the condition since the past two decades.

However, since April 2010 Dr. Weiss has also been receiving treatment for breast cancer, as it was then that the founder of the breast cancer website, breastcancer. org, was diagnosed with the condition. The discovery was made thanks to a routine scanning.

When she discovered her condition, Dr. Weiss says that she was shocked and could not believe it. She says that the mammography she underwent was part of a routine exercise and that she had gone for the screening in a very hurried manner and had not expected to her to be suffering from the condition.

Though, the radiologist had not discovered the tumor, he had only found something worrisome in the mammogram of Dr. Weiss. She says that the radiologist spoke in a very serious manner and had asked her to come back the very next day.

Even though the cancer was discovered, Dr. Weiss is a lucky woman, as regular screening had helped in the early detection of cancer. The result is that there’s nothing much to worry about, and Dr. Weiss herself says that early detection saved her life.
