New constructions to be set up at Lyttelton

cruise-shipThe first cruise-ship berth will be constructed by the Port of Lyttelton to make the most of the tourism market.

The company has alleged that the berth cost of the construction is near about $13.7 million by the end of next year.

Chief executive Peter Davie has supposed that the next year there will be visiting of 72 from cruise ships as hoped by the port. It will be above $30 million to the Canterbury economy.

There is a hope in cruise visits by the company to the port over the next 10 - 15 years.

Mr. Davie has alleged that there will be mass of 100 vessels per season by the port after the completion of the new cruise-ship berth.

A new project of $13.7 million cruise berth will be to Christchurch City Council majority-owned port of Lyttelton.

A passenger development levy will be financing as decided between the port and cruise ship interests. Limited passenger facilities are within it.

There will be a new site for cruise berth.
