CA fraud sentenced to community service A chartered accountant fraud has been sentenced with 200 hours of community work. He is said to have been involved in a financial fraud by manipulating company record he made them pay him a rise of $10,000.

45 year old Mark Joseph Benjamin has already been convicted in seven fraud cases and was sentenced by Judge David Wilson in Auckland District Court.

Mark began his work with HortResearch way back in 2006 as the chief financial officer.

The company that was part of Plant and Food Research is now into the business of importing bulk food.

When he joined he accepted that he should be given a salary of $165,000. Just after a few months he gave himself a raise to make his salary $175,000. For doing so, he tampered the payrolls that were present on the computer.

Surprisingly, his fraud was not discovered for the next two years and when it did happen he was made to present himself before the High Court. There he lost his case.

Besides working for the food company he has also been employed with PwC.
