The District Health Board for the Bay of Plenty is currently undertaking an initiative to improve the provision of health care across the region. The new implementations that will be undertaken by the health board would involve an integration of all the health facilities in the district.
The new changes will help the DHB in achieving its objective of providing better and a wider range of facilities to people as close to their residence as possible.
Talking about the new developments, the Chief Executive Officer for the Bay of Plenty District Health Board, Phil Cammish said that the new Bay Navigator will significantly appreciate the quality of journey for patients to the hospital and the health system. It would be instrumental in providing quality care to all communities irrespective of their sectors and disciplines.
The Bay Navigator will help in better communication between doctors, specialists and other medical professionals in providing care to patients. He further informed that the Bay Navigator would also help in taking care of the number of people in the region.
He further said that improving coordination among medical workers was the best way to provide care to patients in the Bay of Plenty areas, as doctors would be able to consult each other regarding some tricky cases.
