The parents of the disabled children are furious after the ministry of health took a decision to formally register another appeal on whether or not to provide money to the parents for the care of these children.
Although the high court decided against the ministry of health last week saying that the ministry was breaching human rights, the MOH has made another appeal.
The high court has also penalized the ministry for not making sufficient efforts regarding the cost analysis as the estimated figure made by the ministry for the cost of paying the relatives was somewhere in between $17 and $593 million.
The ministry has denied making any further comments until the appeal gets registered in the month of January next year.
Human Rights Chief Commissioner, Rosslyn Noonan expressed her disappointment as the solicitor-general was bent upon appealing to the parents-as-caregivers case.
She said, "This is the second time in less than a year the caregivers of disabled family members have had their case upheld- only to have the Crown reject the judgment and announce an appeal".
On the other hand, Health Minister, Tony Ryall said that more efforts and hard work will be made to provide flexible arrangements for families with disable children
