According to the Insurance & Savings Ombudsman (ISO), the residents of Canterbury are concerned regarding their earthquake insurance claims can ask for a free and independent opinion from the Office of the ISO.
The ISO replied to the increasing worries in Canterbury regarding the handling of earthquake insurance claims, by providing help to policy holders in analysing if their comprehension of their insurance cover and entitlements is absolutely correct.
According to Karen Stevens, the Insurance and Savings Ombudsman, a few of the fights begin differences in opinions and views on the entitlements of insurance cover.
She said that they were providing people with a helping hand in analysing if their cover is what they thought it to be. This would assist in clarifying the basis for a complaint to the insurer.
The function of the ISO is to look into the complaints brought against insurance companies which are also part of the ISO scheme after people have finished having their complaints reviewed by their insurance company's personal complaint procedure.
In many situations, insurers can resolve complaints according to their customers' satisfaction. If customers are not satisfies, they can write in their complaints.
