A noble request by Australian Red Cross Blood Service

Australian-Red-Cross-Blood-ServiceThe shopping fever is still on, the shoppers are still enthusiastic and they are still falling for the extremely bargained prices in the shopping streets of Australia but the Boxing Day enthusiasts have to realize that there is something more important, noble and significant.

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service is encouraging the people to think beyond the shopping bonanza and be a part of the noble cause by saving a life. People are being urged to celebrate the festive days but with some most precious donation- by donating their blood.

It is a heartening fact that the blood donated by a single person can save three lives. Requesting people to participate in blood donation with full spirit and make their Christmas even merrier, operations manager Garry Wolfe said that it is the most rewarding way of extending Christmas giving.

It is to be noticed that the donors centers will remain open in all the capital cities on Boxing Day as well as December 27 and 28.

People also need to understand that these holidays are the worrying times as many people die because they don’t get blood. Shortage of platelets is common as very less people come to donate blood.

"This year, we're appealing to bargain hunters to join us for their well earned break from shopping,” said Wolfe expecting more donors.
