PS3 to Offer TVNZ On-Demand Online Content - Sony Confirms

TVNZ

As has been confirmed by Sony Entertainment, the company has reached an agreement with TVNZ to provide on-demand online content to owners of the popular PlayStation 3 gaming console. With the move, owners of the console will be able to watch programs by TVNZ on their television sets instead of on their PCs.

Announcing the agreement, Sony has stated that it is working with the company “to enable a TVNZ Ondemand interface optimized for the PS3".

"SCENZ and TVNZ will look forward to sharing more information in the New Year regarding the collaboration", confirmed Sony.

Experts across the country as well as the New Zealand media had been speculating about the arrangement since the TVNZ on-demand logo appeared on the PS3's Xcross Media Bar for a temporary period, during the launch of the 3.10 firmware upgrade. Although the logo was soon removed, the speculations and rumors had been circulating in full-swing.

Calling the deal an "exciting partnership", TVNZ spokesperson Andi Brotherston confirmed that the official launch and an announcement would come as early as next year, but no further details were disclosed.
