VAT imposed to hide price rise, say sources

VAT-taxAnti-VAT activists have a lot to talk about and all those who are working on the High Streets are a strong believer that the current VAT rise is nothing but a mask.

They say that the tax rise is being used by the government and especially the central bank to hide the fact that a variety of price rise have happened and that inflation is on the prowl.

And this is directly impacting not only the people but also businesses who are facing the burden of rising costs in terms of overhead, fuel and also taxes. That certainly puts into question the way Bank of England has continuously missed its targets, and that it's Monetary Policy and findings of the research have been a constant failure.

While it is the duty of MPC to keep inflation on or below 2 per cent, it has been found that the inflation is at 3 per cent. And since the rise in the consumer index will not be known before February, the people will have already gone through the phase of festivities where price rise is the norm.

Also considering the fact that the economy has not been doing well in terms of growth, it is needed that the inflation is kept under control and that it should not be any way hidden and neglected in any form.
