It was seen that during the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the media and tech companies had a chance to get close to each other.
This was able to solve to a great extent the purpose of the event and a number of big deals either took place or reached some important level in talks. Some of the most prominent ones include News Corp's 20th Century Fox in talks with Samsung Electronics Co. The consumer electronics company wants to get license for making tablet computers and the application stores on Internet-connected TVs.
If this goes through, then the consumers will be able to download some of the Fox shows. No comment from either of the parties was made.
The deals were cracked at the parties and during the seminars. Some of the sources who were present at the event said that media and technology companies have come together a lot more this year and have formed complex relationships. The show is just a means to depict that.
What is new is that many distribution channels are being experimented upon and a range of new products are being launched.
