As Qantas reports rising passenger numbers on its domestic routes, the airline has decided to ramp up its services and has launch its first ever A330-200 aircraft to better serve its domestic flyers. The new plane offers new seating and various in-flight entertainment options for its passengers.
According to Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, the plane represents a "new and more enjoyable era of flying" for Australians traveling anywhere through the country. "For the first time Qantas will operate a domestic aircraft featuring state-of-the-art in-seat entertainment for all customers", Mr. Joyce shared.
The aircraft is incorporated with as many as 36 business and 265 economy class seats and offers a USB port for all passengers so that they can easily charge their electronic devices when on- board. In addition, touchscreen functionality for the plane's entertainment system makes it more high-tech.
As confirmed by Qantas, the A330-200's on-demand Panasonic eX2 system boasts more than 500 in-flight entertainment options, including, but not limited to, moves, sitcoms, a CD library, games, children's section and the Qantas Lonely Planet Guides, the kind seen on the A380 aircraft.
The second A330-200 is expected to arrive in February, and Qantas has shared that the new in-flight entertainment program will now be included in all its upcoming domestic aircrafts.
