On Saturday, the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon will witness a group of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) sports buffs from Delhi, making their debut in the city.
Nuria Quarol, 31, revealed that she is thrilled to participate in the event. She further added that she has been taking part in the event from the past two years and is of the view that the half marathon is easy.
The event has been organized by Delhi Frontrunners, a group which supports an alternative lifestyle. The group organizes events including walks and jogs at various parks in Delhi.
Quarol is on a strict diet for the past one week in order to deliver a good performance.
The marathon is organized in order to spread awareness regarding their community.
The participants will be wearing t-shirts with 'the Delhi Frontrunners' printed on them. The t-shirts will also have a rainbow printed on them which is a symbol of the LGBT pride.
The Marathon is its eight editions this year. Four runners of LGBT community are slated to participate in the event. Three of these participants belong to Delhi while one is from Mumbai.
