Gen-i to join cloud computing services

Roads have been cleared in New Zealand and Australia for taking further lead in cloud computing with the industry set to become a billion dollar in these countries by 2013, as claimed by market research firm IDC.

The steep prospectus of growing cloud market has lured systems integrator Gen-I to come up with new cloud computing technology. The firm has pledged to ensure better customer services through new and existing ITC infrastructure.

Gen-i Chief Executive Chris Quin said that New Zealand and Australia have huge potential for cloud services and the firm has decided to put its full efforts to lead in the domain.

Mr. Quin added, "We predict that around 25% of new ICT services will be delivered via the cloud in the future, with the remaining 75% continuing to be deployed either in-house or outsourced to providers, such as Gen-i.”

He admitted that still there are hurdles in the way, but the firm is committed to provide integrating network delivered services with on-site infrastructure to catch opportunities in the market.

The firm has also announced to launch Enhanced Gen-i WAN Services (GWS) and Gen-i Enterprise Management solutions next year.
