To mark its 50th anniversary, Plantronics on Wednesday unveiled a next-generation Bluetooth headset, called the Voyager Pro UC.
The Voyager Pro UC features smart-sensor technology which produces clear audio via the earpiece and keeps unwanted noises out. It allows users to route calls automatically to the headset or phone.
In addition, the new device features A2DP streaming, multipoint connectivity and also allows users to play, or pause music automatically. Its ultra-portable mini USB Bluetooth adapter promises PC linkups. It also comes with noise-cancelling AudioIQ2 technology.
To avoid unintentional calls, the device locks the call button when the headset is not being worn by the user. Its smart sensors allow users to answer cellphone or PC calls by placing the headset on ear. No button, app, or voice command is required.
In case, the user is not near the headset, the new technology sends the call direct to the phone.
Announcing the new device, the company said, "The Plantronics Voyager Pro UC unifies and simplifies communications for today's connected and increasingly distributed workforce.."
The Voyager Pro UC is available in the US with a price tag of $199.95. European and Asian customers will start getting it in February.
