Scott J. Kelly, the commander of a 6-member crew on the International Space Station (ISS), received a special package on Sunday when Russian spacecraft Progress M-09M, which docked with the International Space Station
(ISS).
American astronaut Scott Kelly, husband of congresswoman who was recently shot at pointblank range, is turning 47 on 21st of February.
The unmanned Russian spacecraft delivered a Kedr mini-satellite which has been designed to convey greeting messages in fifteen languages and Earth photos to help Kelly celebrate his birthday.
The Progress spacecraft delivered a total of 2,666 kg of various essential items, cloths, food, books, fuel, oxygen etc.
The crew of six on the ISS includes Commander Scott Kelly, Engineers Oleg Skripochka, Alexander Kaleri, Catherine Coleman, Dmitry Kondratye and, Paolo Nespoli.
Russia has plans to send a total of six Progress ships to the ISS in 2011.
