Strong Weather Forced Flu-Carrying Birds to Fly South

Strong Weather Forced Flu-Carrying Birds to Fly SouthAn extreme of climatic conditions has forced flu carrying birds to fly south. This has been suspected with the onset of the avian flu in Japan. This news report has been confirmed by the ornithologists.

Infected with avian flu, these migratory birds have arrived in the parts of the nation. These birds have advanced to further south than last year. This arrival was because of the heavy cold weather in the northern parts. According to an expert, these birds flew to the south due to the harsh onset of winters in the northern part of the globe.

“The spread [of avian flu] may have become even greater as a result of these birds arriving in this nation after migrating through such highly virus-dense areas as Siberia, China and Mongolia", Hiroyoshi Higuchi, a Professor of ornithology at the University of Tokyo, said.

There have been reports of the spread of the H5N1 avian flu in the country. Bird flu has been found in nine cases since early this year. There have also been reports of infected chickens. There is no way to prevent the spreading infection. The migratory birds are the probable carrier of this flu. The government officials still have no conclusion regarding the methods to stop the disease.
