Osteoporosis is a disease anyone can get. It is not age defined. Even a 25-year-old can get this deadly disease.
In this disease, a bone becomes fragile and begins to wear away. The strength is lost. If a 25 years old gets the feeling of wearing of bones, then the person should immediately contact a doctor. If anyone gets osteoporosis in senior age, then it is incurable.
Osteoporosis is a medical condition when the bones lose the mineral content and become fragile. They become brittle and even a slightest hit can break them. The back of the patient begins to stoop, as the backbone is not strong enough to carry the body weight. This may become fatal and can even cause death. The entire skeleton structure is affected.
A study reveals that women are more prone to osteoporosis. Monthly periods, hormonal changes and pregnancy increases the risk of osteoporosis. With the menopause, the risk of this disease increases as the body produces less estrogen as compared to before.
According to the International Osteoporosis Foundation, 30% of people who develop hip fracture never walk again while 20% die within a year.
Everybody, especially women, is requested to check symptoms of osteoporosis and consult doctors regularly to keep away from this deadly disease.
