AT&T and Verizon start ad war over iPhone 4

AT&T and Verizon start ad war over iPhone 4US mobile phone carriers AT&T and Verizon Wireless have recently launched their new commercials to promote the Apple iPhone 4 smartphones available on their respective networks.

In its commercial, AT&T boasts of its network’s ability to allow customers to talk on the phone and access the web at the same time. On the other hand, Verizon make fun of AT&T’s allegedly poor service by proclaiming, “I can hear you now.”

Hitting back at Verizon, AT&T’s commercial asks customers: What is more important to you? Having an iPhone 4 which might drop calls? Or having an iPhone 4 which saves your marriage? The commercial offers an insight into how an AT&T iPhone 4 can save a marriage that is on its last legs.

Verizon is all set to start selling the iPhone 4 from February 9. It is the first that the iPhone 4 will be available through a network provider other than AT&T, which had been enjoying exclusive rights to sell the world’s most popular handset since it was launched in 2007.

Complaints about AT&T’s poor network service is said to be the reason behind Apple’s move to launch the phone via Verizon also.

Reports suggest that Apple has plans to prepare two million CDMA units of the iPhone 4 to ship to Verizon and its own retail stores through January this year.
