In order to pay tribute to French author and futurist Jules Verne on his 183rd birth anniversary, Google on Tuesday posted a new interactive doodle on its home page.
The interactive doodle replaced the usual multicolor logo with a series of portholes. A near-by small joystick allowed users to navigate beneath the waves to view some sea creatures.
Verne, who wrote “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea”, was born in France on 8th of February in 1828.
Verne’s imagined several inventions- in the field of air, sea and space travel- that were quite ahead of his time. His works include "Paris in the 20th Century," which was author's vision of 1960.
Verne died in 19.5. Had he lived for another 100 years he would have witnessed several of his fanciful inventions becoming reality.
California-based web search giant Google frequently posts new doodles to mark special days and pay homage to scientists, artists, authors and other.
