NV Energy in news for Wrong Reasons

NV Energy in news for Wrong ReasonsRecent report by an esteemed group of Earth justice, Sierra Club, Physicians for Social Responsibility and the Environmental Integrity Project has brought the NV energy power plant into limelight, though not for some good reason.

As per the latest reports from EPA, a thorough investigation of the matter is being done to unveil the harmful effects of hexavalent chromium (chromium-6) on the human life.

Responding to the controversy, Earth justice counsel Lisa Evans has called to include hexavalent chromium to the list of life threatening chemicals.

As the EPA investigation is underway, a spokesperson from the NV Energy has confirmed that the company is working in compliance with the norms laid down by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection to curb the spread of contaminants from its coal ash landfills.

Confirming the miss- match between the reports of Sierra Club and Earth justice and that from Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, representative of NV energy claimed this as another attempt to dishevel the coal fueled power plant.

Though the NV energy reports defied any adulteration of chromium, in the ground water samples collected from the Reid Gardner site, the group remains unfazed at their stand of tagging NV energy as the perpetrator of human life.

In the wake of rising concern over the human life, the group has called for maintaning the momentum to eradicate the real culprits behind this massive attack.
