The Auckland beaches could be a case for a rash on your skin! Swimmers across Narrow Neck, Takapuna, Reed and Cheltenham beaches have been warned about the irritating Jellyfish. They are small microscopic creatures that tend to cling on to the skin and then leave an itchy red rash.
It is a painful rash and this is the reason swimmers have been warned so that they take care of their safety. Earlier on, the red rashes on the bodies of the swimmers were thought to be the ones given by Sea Lice. There are so many small creatures present n the sea that one needs to be carefu7l of.
These small microscopic creatures are often poisonous and should not be thought any less than the huge sea monsters. One’s safety is in one’s own hands. It is better to take precautions rather than suffer the consequences.
The Hauraki beach is also full of these little irritants and the swimmers are told to be careful there as well.
The issue is likely to spread across the gulf in the warm weather when these creatures are expected to grow in manifold.
Obviously the only way of ensuring you do not get stung by these creatures is not to swim in these waters till the problem subsides.
