Motorola Atrix 4G was one of the most applauded innovations at the most recent CES, thanks to its innovative laptop dock that can impeccably transform the smartphone into a PC.
The innovative, optional laptop dock of the Atrix 4G adds a long-life battery, two USB ports, QWERTY keyboard, a large touch pad, and two of a kind stereo speakers, giving it the appearance of a CR-48 Chrome OS-based laptop.
However, the laptop dock can not work on its own. It requires the Atrix 4G to be plugged in to work. In addition, the Atrix laptop dock has been priced very high at $499.99.
The Atrix dock's 11.5-inch screen replicates the smartphone’s actual screen. The user can virtually click on the button using the touch pad's mouse cursor. However, it does not allow the user to use phone’s multitouch gestures on the dock’s screen as it does not have touch capability.
The Motorola Atrix 4G runs Google’s Android OS 2.2, and features a sharp qHD display, a dual-core processor, a rear-facing 5MP camera and a front-facing camera for video calling.
Mobile phone carrier AT&T is offering the Atrix 4G for $199.99 with a two-year service contract. The phone and laptop dock bundle is available for $499.99 after a $100 discount.
