Web search giant Google has rolled out a maintenance & security update for its newly released stable version of the Chrome 9 web browser.
The update Chrome 9.0.597.94 for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux fixes a total of five security issues and adds support for a recently patched version of Adobe System's Flash Player 10.2.
Out of the total five security issues, three were rated as high-impact. Of these high-impact issues, two were relating to stale pointers. One of the stale pointers was focused on animation event handling, while the second was relating to anonymous block handling.
The other two vulnerabilities were rated as medium-impact. One was relating to the failure to process an out of memory condition, while the other focused on a plug-in handling problem.
Under it Chrome Security Reward Program, the web search firm also rewarded those who had reported three of the security holes with a cash prize of $1,000. Google claims that its Chrome web browser is blend of promptness, safety and ease.
