Oral dental care is a must to prevent tooth decay. Oral care of teethes have been recommended as the best way of protecting your teeth from any potential decay. Promoting the same, Hamilton Ont., dental hygienist Sandy Lawlor claimed that prevention of disease not only ensures a healthy dental care but saves money as well.
Citing the benefits of oral dental care, Lawlor claimed that medical intervention can be halted to a great extent if proper dental care is being done at home.
With the rising concern over the unproductive life style, Dr. Anthony Iacopino, dean of the faculty of dentistry at the University of Manitoba and director of the International Centre for Oral-Systemic Health claimed that tooth decay plays a vital role in degradation of your immune system and recommended to adopt affordable preventive dental care.
Responding to the controversy, Canadian Dental Association president Dr. Ronald Smith warned of potential acidic attack of plaque, which stimulates the growth of cavities and subsequently leads to tooth decay.
Further, Dr. Smith recommends brushing twice a day to keep the pleasant smile intact besides using rubber-tip gum massagers, mouth washes and other products to maintain a healthy dental system.
In the wake of rising concern, Dr. Peter Cooney, chief dental officer with Health Canada suggested to use fluoride toothpaste to harden the enamel of the teeth.
