The ongoing Mobile World Congress event in Spain's second largest city Barcelona will remain dominated by new smartphones and tablets.
LG will provide a glimpse of its Android-based glasses-free 3D smartphone, the LG Optimus 3D, which is capable of recording, viewing and sharing 3D content.
Sony’s PlayStation handset, the Xperia Play, has already been disclosed. The handset has all the features of existing smartphones, along with a gamepad suggestive of firm’s handheld games console.
Earlier, Nokia was expected to unveil a Windows Phone device at the show, but Nokia CEO Stephen Elop announced last night that it would launch a Windows-phone only by the end of this year.
INQ also took wraps off its Facebook phone- the Cloud Touch.
LG is going to announce its entry into the tablet arena with the launch of the Optimus Pad. Based on the Android OS 3.0 (Gingerbread), the Optimus Pad features two 5-megapixel cameras with 3D recording and video capabilities.
Many more handsets and tablets are expected to appear at the show.
The MWC on the mammoth La Fira complex is expected to attract more than 50,000 visitors over the next four days.
