Samsung, one of the leading electronics giants in the world, unveiled the Apple iPod Touch’s two rivals: the Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and Galaxy S WiFi 5.0.
The Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 are just like Galaxy S phones with the phone missing. Both of the new devices run Google’s Android 2.2 operating system, and will soon be upgraded to Android 2.3.
Both devices features screen resolutions of 800 by 480 pixels, 1Ghz Samsung Hummingbird processors, 3.2MP rear-facing cameras and front-facing VGA camera.
Both, the Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and Galaxy S WiFi 5.0, use Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n to connect to the Internet. In addition, both feature Bluetooth 3.0.
The 4-inch device comes in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models, while the 5-inch device comes in 16GB or 32GB models.
Earlier on Sunday, Samsung introduced its new tablet, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, which is just 1.24 pounds in weight and 0.43-inch in thickness. The new tablet features a NVIDIA Tegra dual-core 1GHz processor, a WXGA TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels, a 2MP camera on the front, and an 8MP camera on the back. It runs Android 3.0 operating system.
