Nokia tied up with Microsoft to recapture its legacy

Nokia-MicrosoftIt’s just like a dream coming true to see the world's greatest software company and the world's leading cellphone manufacturer teaming up to capture the world smartphone market. On 11 February, both the companies have announced their partnership. Nokia and Microsoft are coming up together to compete Apple and Google in the smartphone market.

The Finnish leading cellphone manufacturer Nokia was in trouble for years due to massive competition in the market. Though the company had captured less than a quarter of the world market's profits, but still Apple and RIM are the biggest threats to Nokia. They have managed to scoop up around two-thirds of the market share.

RIM is the manufacturer of the popular phone BlackBerry. This was the scenario last year. But since then, the situation was not so impressive for the company. It has lost its market share at an alarming rate.

The profit and net sales are continuing to shrink. The major reason for such debacle is the software platform of the company. But now Nokia has tied up with Microsoft to compete with rivals like Apple's iPhone and Google's Android platform.
