It is expected that Motorola Mobility's Xoom tablet will be priced very soon. It is heard that it will be more expensive than the Apple iPad. The price of this upcoming tablet computer with the initial versions will be near about $800.
The handset-maker spun off from Motorola Inc. wants “people to make a choice based on the capabilities we deliver rather than just price,” Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Jha told reporters in Barcelona today. “I have always taken the view that to compete with Apple you need to deliver a high- quality product rather than compete on cost alone.”
The iPad of Apple which is equipped with 32- gigabyte, 3G has being sold for $729. Motorola is among the device makers which have been foreseeing to craft buzz for tablets based on Google Inc.'s Android operating system which is at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Other companies like HTC Corp., LG Electronics Inc., along with the Samsung Electronics Co. have also unveiled their tablets at this industry event. The tablets which were disclosed were smaller than the 9.7-inch iPad and 10- inch Xoom.
