Canon will showcase its two new imagePrograf large-format printers at the upcoming WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographer International) Convention which will take place in Las Vegas.
The Canon 44-inch imagePrograf iPF8300S and the Canon 24-inch imagePrograf iPF6300S are 8-color large-format printers that use technology found in company’s 12-color iPF6300, iPF6350 and iPF8300 printers.
The new printers feature "Lucia Ex" ink-set that is capable of achieving better details in shadows. The imagePrograf models also come with a built-in color calibration function which boosts the color representation across the wider printing formats and compensate for color variations caused by age & environmental photo effects. The manufacturer claims that the new models consume less ink, but can print at twice the normal speed of the existing 8-color models.
The 44-inch imagePrograf iPF8300S and the 24-inch imagePrograf iPF6300S printers will be available in April with price tags of $4,995 and $2,995 respectively.
