The Floyd County Relay for Life, which works for social cause, is going to arrange an unique kind of relay which might be regarded as a life-changing event for those who would be part of this. The Floyd County Relay committee is in need of more manpower to support this relay event of this year.
The Floyd County Relay committee organizes relay every year with the purpose of raising fund for cancer patients. This fund is used for treating cancer patients and supporting those families who lost their near and dear ones to cancer. This year’s target is to raise $167,000, which will go to the American Cancer Society.
According to Jeana Brock, the Marketing Chairperson for the Floyd County Relay for Life, she has been working with the organization since 1970. Working to support cancer patients and their families is something very close to her heart. She explained that her engagement with the Relay committee is a way to pay tribute to those families who battled cancer. Brock’s mother and grandmother both due to cancer and her sister is a cancer survivor.
Ms. Brock informed that they are looking for active men and women to sign up for this year’s relay event. As of now, there is requirement of 71 teams and 380 cancer survivors. If the requirement gets fulfilled, then they will accept more people who are interested to be part of this relay.
