US mobile phone carrier Verizon had high hopes from the launch of iPhone 4 on its airwaves, but so far it failed to entice iPhone customers.
Before the launch of the Verizon iPhone 4, AT&T was expected to suffer huge defections, but only a tiny fraction of AT&T iPhone customers has switched over to Verizon.
Apple launched its flagship handset via Verizon to pacify customers who were complaining against AT&T’s alleged poor network service, but AT&T recently beat Verizon in iPhone 3G speed test.
Around 106,000 broadband tests were conducted on website Speedtest. net, and the results showed that AT&T provides faster iPhone service than Verizon.
AT&T iPhone owners reported an average download and upload speeds of 1,769kb/h and 730kb/h, as compared with Verizon iPhone users’ reported download and upload speeds of 848kb/h and 506kb/h.
Before iPhone’s availability via Verizon, AT&T had been enjoying exclusive rights to sell iPhone since it was launched in 2007.
