The families of Christchurch earthquake fugitives are being offered accommodation at Mid Canterbury. These families have been paired up the families of Mid Canterbury residents. Presently, 14 people from Christchurch have been given the accommodation but the number of these fugitives is expected to elevate as soon as more people will come to know about the services.
The families living nearby are offering beds to these homeless people. More than 300 beds have already been offered to these victims. Other than these beds a new heritage centre has also been set up. The New Life Church Heritage Centre has offered his services to 65 people.
The Guardian and the Ashburton Business Association has been listing the names of those who have spare beds to offer the victims. The Editor of the Guardian, Peter O'Neill has asked people to be patients.
He told that the information and registration of the accommodation is made available to the public through i-Site and is broadcasted with the help of various media channels and civil defence channels in Christchurch. The results of these efforts will be coming out soon.
