Air pollution can act as a catalyst for heart attacks. A recent study has unleashed another dimension of heart attack claiming that air pollution can be a potential threat to human heart. With medical experts citing alcohol, coffee, and physical exertion as the potential reasons of heart stroke, this study has sent alarming signal in the medical fraternity.
As per the study author, Tim Nawrot of Hasselt University in Belgium, air particles plays a vital role in triggering heart attack in human beings. Citing the concern over the newly unveiled factor, the World Health Organization (WHO) has reportedly claimed that air pollution can be a serious threat for human health.
With over 2 million dying annually due to air pollution, this aforementioned study has certainly unearthed the relevance of the under–rated factor of air pollution in human study.
As per the study conducted, various factors causing heart attacks were studied to figure out the population of air stimulated heat attacks. Of all the factors studied, cocaine was found to be most dangerous factor causing heart strokes.
As per the WHO reports, some of the major cities have already violated the air quality guidelines which lead to millions of deaths across the world. Though passive smoking was not studied, Nawrot claimed that putting ban on smoking in public places has significantly improved the rate of heart attacks.
