Researchers have claimed on the basis analysis of the data of 4,000 men and women, collected over a span of years that the women who are more educated and have spent more time in education are moiré likely to suffer from low blood pressure.
The researchers revealed that the women who have completed 17 years of education are likely to suffer from low blood pressure.
The data revealed that the more educated women had recorded the mercury level 3.26mm lesser than the low educated women group while in case of men the mercury level was lesser by 2.26mm of Hg.
The differences in the readings for alcohol consumption, obesity and smoking got reduced to 2.86mmHg for women and 1.25 mmHg for men after making the necessary adjustments in the blood pressure levels.
Natasha Stewart, member of the British Heart Foundation said, “These findings support existing evidence about the link between socio-economic deprivation and heart disease risk,” and further added “However, the study only showed up a small blood pressure drop among women and an insignificant decrease among men. It has its limitations too because the relatively small number of people involved were mostly from a white, suburban background. It doesn’t investigate whether the findings apply to all ethnic groups.”
