According to the scientists who are in favor of this technology, it works as safeguard against the harmful insecticides and pesticides which are unavoidable while cultivating using conventional methods. So it is eco- friendly and beneficial for commonly used foods.
According to the FDA and the Department of Agriculture, genetically engineered foods are insects and bacteria resistant, so it helps to increase the production quantity which is required for maintaining low prices. At the same time these foods taste better and full of nutritious ingredients.
Grocery Manufacturers of America has calculated that almost 75% of all processed foods which are available in the US food markets are genetically modified and gradually it will capture the whole market.
