Vicky Robinson was fighting with cancer and had joined Relay for Life to help and support the cancer patients. Unfortunately, the mother of eight died one hour after the Relay for Life in Queen Elizabeth Park, Masterton.
She has become the bravest person ever to participate in the Relay for Life and making efforts for others life. During the Relay, she suffered from short of breath and was taken by the ambulance to Wairarapa Hospital. She protested to be taken away as she wanted to stay and contribute to the relay. She wanted the Relay for Life to be a big party for her. She fought till last and died on Sunday night.
Mayor Adrienne Staples, who has also participated in the relay, said that Relay for Life meant big party, fun and meeting people for Mrs. Robinson.
Mrs. Robinson was extremely positive towards her cancer and towards her life as well. She was an important member of the council’s Relay for Life team and had joined the fundraising charity two years ago.
